This picture is one of those lucky accidents of doble exposure. She shot the sign in Golden Gai one night and the guards at Meiji Jingu on a different day. The guards were actually telling her she couldn’t walk into the Assembly Hall because there was a ceremony in progress but, combined, these two images create a scene that Taeko says that no person who takes pictures has been exempt from.
